How does tech work at The Rocky Mountain Speedway?!
6 red seal mechanics/commercial inspectors will be onsite Friday June 14th & will be safety teching each car as they roll in.
What can you expect?
Below is a list of the types of things you can expect to be teched on, but not limited to:
- Full bumper to bumper safety tech. (1 race weekend to comply after a rule change unless tech deems to be a safety issue).
- All safety gear to be laid out for inspection & for clarification of any questions from drivers.
- Class tech specific
- Carb-air cleaner pulled
- Intake
- 1 spark plug may be removed & a scope used to inspect engine internals.
- Suspension mount points
- Suspension-class specific rules
- Tire size (as per your home track rules)
- Tire width (as per your home track rules)
In addition to the above the Rocky Mountain Racing Association reserves the right to tech the top 4 cars of any race.
Racers Beef!
No engines will be opened up by The Rocky Mountain Racing Association. If as a driver you feel an engine should be opened up we have a shop reserved. You as a racer, for $500 you can call it out, the car will go to a third party off track shop where a licensed Red Seal Mechanic will open it up. If the engine is found to be illegal to their track rules the driver who called the “racers beef” will be reimbursed by the Rocky Mountain Racing Association. Note If 3 board executives agree unanimously uncalled for the “racers beef” will be called off prior to going to the shop.
How do payouts work for The Grand Finale INVITATIONAL at The Rocky Mountain Speedway?!
The weekend prize pot is determined by the number of participating cars per class, with each car contributing $125 to the total for their respective class. Depending on the total number of cars, the prize distribution adjusts. For classes with fewer than 14 cars, 75% of the total prize pot is allocated to the top three weekend point finishers, divided up as 50% to the first place, 30% to the second place, and 20% to the third place in total weekend points. The remaining 25% of the pot is distributed progressively among up to half the class, ensuring that the payouts decrease less steeply among the winners. For classes with more than 14 cars, 2/3 of the pot is distributed to the top three in the same percentages, while the remaining 1/3 is shared among up to half the class but no more than 10 drivers, progressively decreasing. This is the minimum payout.
